Story Books and Picture Books

Hi kids!

In our library you can find a colourful mixture of stories and tales for all ages.

Modern literature for children can be found along with books which your parents would have read when they were your age. Bookworms with special interests can rummage through the nearby shelves which contain books about horses, child detective novels or the popular "What’s What?" books. For the very young ones amongst you, or for children who have only just begun to read, there are over 1,000 picture books available.

Subject Books

Children are eager to learn, and for this reason we offer a large selection of subject books.
They are divided into subject areas. You can find books to help you with your homework or you could for example analyse the results of whale and dolphin research; maybe you would like to learn some new magic tricks or maybe you are looking to take up handicrafts in order to make your own Christmas presents – no problem, we have the right book for you. You can even find books about your favourite football players as well as videos and CD-Roms.

Audio Books and Music for Children

Listening to books – is it possible?

Of course it’s possible, in our library. Whether alone or with friends, you can do listening exercises or listen to CDs at special listening stations

We also have a selection of children’s songs on tape or introductions to classical music which are aimed towards children. If you find a tape that you like, you can borrow it for 14 days and enjoy it in the peace and quiet of your own home.

Videos

There are many great films in Germany which have been specially adapted for children. But sometimes it is difficult to find these films in video shops, because they may not be rented out very often.

We want to fill this gap with our offer. Of course, we have the best-known films and cartoons which have been shown in cinemas. If you are interested in animals we also have videos about e.g. lions, dinosaurs and much, much more.

Magazines

Do you know about the new pop groups in the German Hitparade this month?
If the answer is no, we can change that. Just look inside one of the music magazines in the children’s library.

What’s new in space travel? Please feel free to look through the latest science and technology magazines. Animal magazines, school magazines, magazines with puzzles and stories – all taken care of.
