Walking and Parks

Hameln and its idyllic surrounding villages are embedded in densely-wooded hills which make up the attractive Weserbergland region. The public forest takes up approx. 1300 hectares.
The Klüt Tower, Süntel Tower and Bismarck Tower are popular destinations for hikers and bikers. The Rattenfängerpfad (Pied Piper’s path) is divided into three different stages for varied hiking routes.

The natural protection area "Schweineberg" (170 hectares) probably has the biggest area of snowflakes in northern Germany: 1.5 kilometres in length and 100 to 200 meter width on a hillside where the ground is nearly covered with "snowflakes".
