Ohrberg Park

June is the best time of the year to visit the Ohrberg Park. Rhododendron and azalea are blossoming and invite you to walk through the park at Hameln´s southern edge.
From Hameln take the "Bundesstraße 83" towards Bodenwerder and shortly after leaving Hameln turn right to the "Institut für Solarenergieforschung" in Emmerthal.

The English park was first established in 1815 and is privately owned. Nevertheless the park is open to the public all year and visitors are welcome. From the park you have a nice view onto the river Weser and the surroundings.
In 1997 the park was reestablished with support of Lower Saxony which gave 250.000 Euro. The money was used for a couple of measures such as restoring paths and banisters and implementing banks for resting. Also new plants were planted.
